Kanopi by Armstrong

A digital platform to develop and grow the direct-to-consumer business for Armstrong, a company specialising in commercial ceiling, suspension system and wall solutions.

  • B2B Business development platform to manage the customer acquisition pipeline from first contact to signed contract. 

  • B2C E-commerce website addressing four key user needs; ceiling tile replacement, improved acoustics, healthier spaces and ceiling refresh.

Furthermore, we developed the Kanopi brand, developed ceiling installation as a service and helped Armstrong hire the right team to run the new venture.

Role & Responsibilities: Lead Experience Designer

As Lead Experience Designer at BCGDV, Manhattan Beach, CA (Boston Consulting Group, Digital Ventures), I was part of a team inventing, launching, and scaling industry-disrupting businesses with the world’s most influential companies.

Deliverables: Brand identity & digital style guide, E-commerce website, Service design

As the Lead Experience Designer I ran a number of brand workshops to collaboratively develop the new DTC brand and visual identity.

Through research interviews, we identified the core use cases and customer segments, which informed all decisions about site structure, navigation, content and visual design.

We defined a rich set of product facets, allowing the customer to filter and search through the catalogue in multiple ways.

A complex product offering was made comprehensible by visualising product information and making contextual help easy to access throughout the site.
